I believe that we, as humans, share more than the common cells and elements that form our bodies. There is something more; a connection that binds us together. We are all unique in our thoughts, beliefs, lifestyles and yet we all share so many common experiences. It is this concept, the shared human experience or connection that I would like to explore. Through this blog I hope to gain a better understanding of the nature and evolution of our humanity. To do this I need your help!

I am asking that you share your experiences with me. A story of a kind stranger, a life lesson, anything or anyone who has had an impact on your life. Also, I will be posting a series of "deep" life questions and I would love to hear what you all have to say. Please feel free to share as little or as much as you want. You can remain anonymous or share every detail, all I ask is that you be completely honest. No judgement here, I just hope to better understand and appreciate those with whom I share this planet.

Am I really blogging?

Creating a blog is like the first time you go to Las Vegas; limitless options, a loss of all concept of time or an outside world and yet a place where people can be or think anything and share it with the world.
I sit, completely entranced by the glow of possibility radiating from my laptop. Clicking and typing, agonizing over every detail. Clicking and typing until I look up and suddenly the spell has broken. Dusk is settling in and I realize how long I have been exploring this strange new world. As I come back to the "tangible" world I realize something else.
My husband is no more than twenty feet from me and the three dogs are sprawled out on various pieces of furniture, fast asleep. That makes four other living beings in the room and yet I have been completely immersed in another world for hours. This leads me to my first question for all of you.

With all of our texting, blogging and social networking sites, instant answers to just about any question you can imagine; one could quite possibly rule the world without ever leaving their computer.
Does our dependance on technology hinder our human connection?
